"Cheap holidays in Santa Ponsa - Majorca"
Santa Ponsa, situated on the south west coast of Majorca, is a busy family-orientated resort with a cheerful friendly atmosphere. Developed in the 1960’s around a small village, Santa Ponsa has grown into a popular holiday destination, favoured by British tourists, especially Scottish and Irish holidaymakers. Santa Ponsa is ideally situated to explore either the west coast, with its dramatic rocky shoreline and picturesque villages, or venture east and sample the infamous nightlife of neighbouring Magaluf. |
With three golf courses available, watersports and evening entertainment at the Gran Casino, Santa Ponsa is a great family-orientated resort. Day trips to other parts of the island are simple and frequent. Nightlife is varied but a dominance in Irish and Scottish themed bars, as well as the 'Rovers Return', means that for a traditional Majorcan experience you will have to venture elsewhere.

For those who like walking or cycling, the district has a host of protected wildlife & birds, which can be seen whilst walking in the hills above Santa Ponsa on the way to the charming town of Calvia. Although relatively a new town, has important links to Mallorcan history. It was here that King Jaume I disembarked on 1229 founding Majorca and on top of the hill overlooking Santa Ponsa Bronze age remains can be seen today. |
The weather in this south western part of Majorca is lovely through out the year with warm summers and mild winters.... As with the Playa del Ingles between May and October it is virtually sunshine all the way with very little rain. In July and August it can be very humid and at night it is very sticky. If you come to Santa Ponsa over the Winter months you will need to bring a jumper and/or coat for the evenings because it does go cooler but there will almost certainly be some stage each day when you can still enjoy the sun. |
